Position Description - Business Development and Sponsorship Manager

About the role

An exciting, newly created opportunity has arisen for a motivated experienced Business Development and Sponsorship Manager to promote, drive and expand Caroline Springs George Cross FC partnerships and Food and Beverage customer base.  The role will focus on engaging new/prospective sponsorship partners, maintaining current relationships and a focus on driving business through our Hospitality Venue.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Club President and General Manager, your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Identify and develop potential sponsorships, including understanding of commercial targets and strategic sponsorship objectives to secure new sponsors.

  • Negotiate package benefits with sponsors to meet both Club and sponsor needs.

  • Be responsible for driving growth through utilisation of food and beverage spaces outside of restaurant opening hours. Building regular activity and cliental.

  • Engage with partners to understand their business strategies and drivers and align with our club.

  • The role will include responsibility in developing and managing current partners with the view to keep them onboard and creation of a prospect pipeline for onboarding of new partners.

  • Attend Game Days and Sponsorship events to host sponsors and promote CSGCFC.

  • Manage sponsor entitlements, including corporate hospitality, signage and other contractual agreements.


About you

We are looking for a highly motivated, commercially astute and proven Sales professional ready for their next challenge. You will have a consultative and customer focused approach to partner effectively with a prospective customer in identifying and understanding their needs. Crucial to this role is the ability to engage with influence and credibility across all stakeholder and client groups particularly at the management team. 

Additionally, you will have the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a consultative selling role, preferably within the sporting Industry

  • Strong network of contacts across the VIC market, with connections across both the sporting Industry and Local Businesses.

  • Proven ability and creativity to create compelling proposals and value propositions relevant to client’s industry.

  • Proven background of achieving / overachieving budgets & targets.



Initial 4 Month Contract with the potential to become a Full-time role with a base salary plus commission - $ based on experience and demonstrated competencies.
